Matthew LaGrassa is the owner and operator of LaGrassa Design. Matthew has been in the industry for more than 20 years. His passion for the business began when he was just a teen. He spent a, hot summer working for a stone mason. It was the hardest he had ever worked. It was also the most rewarding work that he had ever done. Matthew loved the feeling of holding the stone in his hands and the knowledge that he had created something that would last. He was a firm believer in craftmanship. The population was 31,578 at the 2010 census. == History == The hamlet of Centereach was first called West Middle Island, but primarily became known as New Village until the early 20th century. When it was discovered that another town shared the same name in Upstate New York, the name was changed to Centereach in 1916.
